This was the first of the ex Sunstate Shorts SD360 family of aircraft to depart Brisbane for the United States

Prior to departure the aircraft had its titles and the Qantas Kangaroo logo removed

The aircraft was observed at Miami (Opa Locka) in the basic Qantas livery with the kangaroo logo

on the tail just visible through the red paint and missing the starboard side engine - January 22, 2003

The aircraft subsequent underwent a major overhaul and was repainted in a very smart new corporate livery
